Floor Drain and Sewer Line Problems?

Clogged Floor DrainD-Bug Inspects, Replaces, and Installs

Sewer lines are typically located under the foundation of your home. First there is the concrete floor, then a couple feet of dirt, and then the sewer pipe. In addition to being connected to pipes carrying water and waste matter, your sewer lines are likely connected to one or more floor drains in your basement.

Signs that something might be wrong with your basement drain or the sewer line include:

  • A foul, sewer smell escaping the drain
  • An overflowing toilet
  • Water draining more slowly than normal
  • Water entering the home through the floor drain
  • Basement flooding that doesn’t drain

At D-Bug, we are experts at waterproofing basements, repairing foundations, and dealing with all the issues and problems related to wet basements and ground water entering the home.

Camera Inspection of Drains and Sewer Lines

With any basement drain or sewer line problem, the most expensive option is to start digging up your basement and/or your yard to replace existing lines. In many cases, it may not even be clear where those lines are or exactly how they run.

Floor Drain Camera

We use a line camera to “see” what’s going on inside and locate the exact position of the problem. This takes some experience and expertise. As you might imagine, sewer lines can be filled with waste, buildup of grease and other materials, soap scum, calcium, and more.

Our camera operators know what they’re looking for and know how to find the root of the problem (and often, tree roots do play a part). They use rugged, self-leveling cameras to inspect your drains using powerful lights, high resolution video, auto-focus, and the ability to record live feeds. Many times we can use an electric eel to clear the problem quickly and easily.  We look for:

  • Roots in drain, penetrating the sewer
  • Clogged drain lines
  • Broken sewer lines
  • Objects dropped into the sewer

Our cameras identify the exact location and depth of the problem, guiding repairs and helping us address your drain problems quickly and conservatively, saving you money.

Need a Sump Pump?

Your wet basement problem may only partly be the fault of a clogged drain. Or the drain may be badly positioned to handle leakage in different areas. You may need a Sump Pump to collect and redirect water out of your basement.
